The sound of a closing door.

If I'm completely honest with myself, I absolutely hate change - which would be a highly argued topic considering how much I rearrange my furniture! But really all jokes aside, change in any form is tough.

I never wanted my kids, all five of them, to ever be an excuse or a reason why I was unable to complete a task. Merely, the task would rather be performed at lightning speed, or not enjoyed at all! I do still think my personality is still the "Hail Mary pass in the 4th quarter" kind of girl regardless of the life situation!

The truth is, it wasn't fun. Now I know, most of life isn't fun. Cancer is not fun. Miscarriage is not fun. Labor, not so enjoyable. But even in all that not fun-ness, there are still fun moments. Moments are allowing friends to hold your hand, moments after labor holding your precious baby, or even getting an all-clear on a health test; when there are no longer any moments, that's the sound of the closing door.

I haven't forgotten about all of the people who have supported me throughout my storefront years, and I hope you'll choose to continue alongside me in the next series of open doors.

Fair Week

2018 fair season has come to an end, what a whirlwind of craziness and joy.  This year the Posse has three members participating and wearing whites.  Layla headed up the crew with over 21 entries, from showing goats, chickens and more.

Wyatt and Birdy had another amazing year under the wings of the primary group, they each were able to participate in Poultry and gardening. We also threw together a few special crafts, like a beer can turtle also known as recycled art and managed to place high in each category!

We come from a long line of 4-H and FFA members, yet it is really a unique experience to see it now through the eyes of a mother.

After lots of washing, washing birds, washing whites, and washing sticky food off little hands and faces, fair week has ended leaving us with another set of wonderful memories!

Woodside Rodeo

This was the third year that the Prosser Posse attended Woodside Rodeo, I can still remember our first year. Travis and I literally had no idea that we would have to cross the Bay Bridge to get there, $40 for trailers or learning that the Bay Area doesn’t “believe” in diesel fuel was CRAY.  Not to mention rolling into the rodeo grounds on fumes and missing our oldest child, Layla’s first event made for an adventure none of us could ever forget, but certainly one we could learn from. Although our family used to spend 4th of July beneath the glow of fireworks on the lake, we all find it pretty special seeing Layla ride for the Mounted of San Mateo County Patrol Performance.
